The OREI UHDS-102A is a reliable distribution amplifier powered splitter that will take HDMI (1.3, 1.4, 2.0) signal up to 4K@60Hz and 2K@60Hz and duplicate the signal to up to 2 HDMI displays (e.g. TV and video projector) simultaneously, creating an impressive lossless image or audio transmission via HDMI cable. Video resolution up to 4K@60Hz and 2K@60Hz, with Dolby Vision, HDR, and Dolby Atmos Support. All other audio formats are also supported by the splitter through HDMI e.g. DTS, Dolby Digital, Dolby TrueHD / Atmos, and DTS-HD.

The splitter also features downscaling. If the source provides a 4K signal and one of the displays can only handle 1080p, the scaler can be switched on for the specific output port. This converts the 4K signal to 1080p. Other parameters such as frame rate, color space, and sound format will not be affected. A 4K@60Hz signal will be downscaled to 1080p@60Hz, and 4K@30Hz will be downscaled to 1080p@30Hz. When using 4K and 1080p displays at the same time, HDR should be turned off at the source, or AUTO mode should be used because Full HD displays cannot correctly display Dolby Vision HDR.

The UHDS-102A features Audio extraction through SPDIF and 3.5mm analog ports. You can connect an AV Receiver or a sound system to one of these ports and enjoy high-quality audio. The Optical port supports LPCM [2.0/2.1]CH, Dolby 5.1, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby DD+, DTS 5.1, DTS-ES 6, DTS-HDMA 5.1, DTS HD-HRA 5.1. The 3.5mm analog port supports PCM 2.0. Note: This extractor doesn’t downmix higher bitstream audio to lower. The optical output will only have audio output when the audio from the source is limited to the supported formats for optical output and similarly the analog output will only have audio output when the source is outputting in 2ch or stereo mode.

EDID management switch – In TV mode, the device compares the EDID information of the connected displays and delivers it to the HDMI source. The HDMI source then provides an output Audio/Video format supported by both displays. So, when a 1080p display is connected, the source, in TV mode, will deliver 1080p to both displays.

In COPY mode, the device copies the EDID information of the display connected to the HDMI Output 1 and delivers it to the HDMI source. The HDMI source then provides an output Audio/Video format supported by the display. So, when a 4K display is connected to OUT 1, the source, in COPY mode, will deliver 4K to both displays. If a 1080p display is connected to OUT 2 then it will not receive a signal unless the Downscale switch is turned on for that display.

Please note that this splitter will duplicate the source to the two output displays. It can’t be used to extend a desktop for a PC or a laptop. We recommend using this splitter with high-quality HDMI cables 30 feet or less.
